Situated on top of a hill, Villa Marianna enjoys spectacular views all the way to the sea taking in 3 medieval hill towns and masserias. The spacious property has over 130 olive trees, some over 200 years old, plus almonds, cherries, figs, pomegranates, various fruit trees and prickly pears. The house and villa are positioned in the middle of the land which is about 1 hectare or 2.5 acres. The front half of the land nearest the road is formally laid out to olive, fruit and nut trees. Behind the the house and villa is the garden area while up the hill has been left semi wild and has an abundance of wild flowers in spring. From just about any point on the land there are excellent views, either away into the distance and the sea, or up the hill to the terraces. It is possible to see the ancient hilltop towns of Ostuni, Ceglie Messapica and Carovigno and also San Michele, San Vito and Brindisi. Some nights you can watch up to 3 firework displays from the roof terrace.
On the middle terrace there is an entrance to a grotto that goes under the hill to a masseria on the opposite side. However, this has been sealed on orders from the town council as it was once, according to local legend, used by villains to hold hostages until owed money was paid. The property is hedged and walled on all 4 sides, affording privacy and security.
